Ninth Circuit nominee testimony on impartially evaluating cases

Senate Judiciary Committee Member Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota asks nominee to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Anthony Johnstone how he would impartially review the law in evaluating a case, Johnstone answering any lawyer would be heartened by the support of Judges that they've appeared before so it was a great honor that in Montana, judges are elected by his friends and neighbors, his work for the state in front of the Supreme Court and in other courts over two decades was marked by careful attention to the record making the best arguments under existing precedent in engaging the other side respectfully and trying to figure out where they agree and disagree.
