Underwater footage shows divers searching for sunken ship crew members in NW Türkiye
BURSA, TÜRKİYE - FEB. 18, 2024: Rescue teams in northwestern Türkiye are working on the 4th day to recover the crew of a sunken cargo ship in the Sea of Marmara.
Underwater footage released by Bursa Governor's Office shows ongoing efforts by divers to find missing crew members in the sunken ship.
The wreck of the “Batuhan A’’ cargo ship was located on Friday and the body of one crew member was recovered Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Zeynep Kilinc, the 33-year-old cook at the ship.
Divers from the navy are looking for five more missing crew from the Batuhan A at a depth of 51 meters.
The ship set off from Marmara Island on Feb. 14 and sank on Thursday due to severe weather and turbulence at sea.
