Kerala , Kannur , India: MARCH 06, 2025: Elephants face off as part of Main ceremony Kudamattom where 30 elephants 15 on each side the Western group, and the Eastern group. Thrissur Pooram, held in Thekkinkadu Maidanam in the heart of Thrissur district, is a major celebration that combines Kerala's spiritual and cultural core. This yearly temple celebration, held during the Malayalam month of Medam (April-May), is commonly considered as the "Mother of all Poorams." Thrissur Pooram, the idea of Shakthan Thampuran, the Maharaja of Kochi, combines 10 temples to create a stunning display that draws thousands of tourists each year. The finale of Thrissur Pooram is marked with a spectacular fireworks show that lights up the night sky, followed by the closure of the festival the next morning with the lowering of the temple flag.
