David Cameron statement on Andy Coulson resignation

David Cameron statement on Andy Coulson resignation; ENGLAND: London: EXT David Cameron MP (Prime Minister) interview SOT - I am very sorry to see him go, he did a very good job as Director of Communications both for the govt and the country - he ran the Downing Street press office in a very professional and straightforward and correct way and I think he's done some very good work but I understad why he wans to go - things that happened at News of the World, stories about that - he resigned at the time and I've always felt he's been punished for same offence twice - I understand his decision and wish him well for the future Q: does this raise concerns about your judgement David Cameron SOT - I don't think so / Andy Coulson resigned from News of the World when he found out what was happening - feel he's been punished twice for same offence - I choose to judge him by the work he's done for me, for the govt and for the country - he's run the Downing Street press office in a professional, competent and good way - if you compare that with days of dodgy dossiers, Alastair Campbell, Damian McBride and all that nonsense we had from previous govt, he's done an excellent job, think he should be judged on that - I don't recall anyone complaining in any way about how he's done his job at Downing Street - this is about the past / it goes on and on and I can understand he wants to move on and I wish him well / he's done good work got govt and I thank him for that Q: is it damaging for you? David Cameron SOT - he's run the Downing Street press office in a professional, competent and good way / think he should be thanked for that and wish him well for the future - thanks a lot walks away
