Asunción, Paraguay: old river gunboat moored on the Paraguay river / Asunción bay - river patrol boat P04 ARP Teniente Fariña, converted from an Argentine minesweeper, the ARA Comodoro Py - used as river patrol craft that could carry naval mines, armed with a quad 40 mm mount gun and two machine guns - Bouchard-class minesweeper, designed and built in Argentina. The Paraguayan Navy protects Paraguay's waters despite not having direct access to the sea. It has gone to war on two occasions: in the War of the Triple Alliance (1864–1870) against Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay and the Chaco War against Bolivia.
