Custom House and Captain Vancouver, King's Lynn - stock photo

"Kingaas Lynn, England - September 17, 2012: The Custom House beside the Purfleet in King's Lynn, Norfolk. The Custom House is probably the best-known building in this ancient town and port on the west coast of Norfolk, England. It was built as a merchant exchange in 1683 on reclaimed land at Purfleet Quay in the Dutch style so often seen in Norfolk. The building was bought by the Crown in 1717 for the use of Customs officers and was in use in that capacity until 1989. It is now used as a tourist information office. Two tourists wander in the cobbled streets."
