Pig Food: Women's Voluntary Service Collects Salvaged Kitchen Waste, East Barnet, Hertfordshire, England, 1943, WVS salvage workers Mrs Gerald De Rivaz, Kathleen Kent and Winifred Jordan carry large pig bins on their shoulders from their positions on the sunny streets of East Barnet to the WVS trailer. The salvage kitchen scraps in the bins will be emptied into the trailer, and the contents transported and distributed to the local pig farmer.
