The Farnese Palace, one of the most important high Renaissance palaces in Rome is currently the French embassy in Italy. Several main rooms were frescoed with elaborate allegorical programs and the well known The Loves of the Gods (15971608) in the Farnese Gallery by the Bolognese painter Annibale Carracci.
