Tikrit: Saddam Hussein's Native Town
Tikrit's presidential complex is composed of three reception palaces and several residential and leisure palaces, on a marina next to the Tigris river. Most of it was built during the embargo. Here, one the several palaces' interior located around the three main ones, this one straddles over a pond. The double-revolution staircase is made of white marble and coated with mother-of-pearls.
