The widow of Havildar Vipan Thakur cries as she receives The Shaurya Chakra award for her late husband from Indian President Prathibha Singh Patil (L) during the Defence Investiture Ceremony at Presidential Palace in New Delhi on April 9, 2010. The award was given to Vipan Thakur for his bravery, gallantry in a counter-terrorist operation in Jammu and Kashmir on September 21, 2009, during which he was killed.
