(Original Caption) Swaps (7) thunders across the finish line a length-and-a-half ahead of the favored Nashua (5) in the 81st running of the Kentucky Derby yesterday. With Willie Shoemaker up, Swaps covered the mile and a quarter course in two minutes one and four-fifths seconds. About 100,000 racing fans watched the classic, which paid the winner $108,400. Nashua was ridden by Eddie Arcaro. Summer Tan was third and Racing Fool fourth.
