YOKOHAMA, KANAGAWA, JAPAN - 2024/05/05: Shinto priest tries to make a baby cry with a demon's mask during Nakizumo festival. Nakizumo, in English called "Crying Baby Festival" is done in the name of blessing the baby as "naku ko wa sodatsu" which translates to "crying babies grow", meaning babies who cry would grow up strong and healthy. Nakizumo also serves to drive away evil spirits and is performed inside Shinto shrines. Besides the crying match there are other activities which are done by families, such as photo opportunities with real sumo wrestlers, prayer ceremonies and baby hand prints.
