China Starts Producing Pig-borne Disease Vaccine

According to Xinhua News Agency, Guangdong Winsun Bio-Pharmaceutical Co is designated by the Ministry of Agriculture to produce the first batch of pig-borne disease vaccine. The production of 10 million vaccines for streptococcus swine type II, a bacteria carried by pigs, is expected to be finished on August 4 and will reach Sichuan Province one week later after being inspected by the Ministry of Agriculture. According to the Ministry of Health, the death toll in Sichuan Province's pig-borne disease has risen to 31 with 27 in critical condition.
