Reenactors from local chapters of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) donned medieval garb and gathered at the Prince William County Fair- grounds. An annual archery tournament was held, and infantry combatants gathered at the Bear Pit to show their prowess with (wooden) swords and long poles. The purpose of the SCA, which began in 1966, is to recreate a society where honor, chivalry, personal integrity, and other ideals of the Middle Ages are not forgotten.
