The tankard - awarded to the County with the highest proportionate increase in 10-21 years age group membership of Open Clubs during the year - had been received from the Duke by Mr. Antrobus (County Chairman) on behalf of Warwickshire. He chose milk as his beverage, and the Duke having filled the tankard, Mr. Antrobus drank to the pledge: 'I promise, whenever I am at home, to drink out of this tankard at least once a day'.
