LITHUANIA-FRANCE-LITERATURE-PHILOSOPHY-ART-SARTRE
People look at a bronze statue made by sculptor Klaudijus Pudymas and dedicated to French playwright, philosopher, novelist and political activist Jean-Paul Sartre after it was unveiled on June 21, 2018 in Nida, western Lithania. - The statue aims to be an allusion to Sartre's walk in the dunes of Nida in the year 1965, where the French artist was pictured by young Lithuanian photographer Antanas Sutkus. The black and white photos showing Sartre walking against the wind became world famous and served as inspiration for Pudymas' sculpture.
