DAN SAI, THAILAND - 2024/07/08: Participants wearing ghost masks and dressed in costumes take part during the festival. The "Phi Ta Khon" Ghost festival of Thailand held at Dan Sai district, Loei Province in the northeast of Thailand typically starts on a Friday during the first weekend after the sixth full moon of the year. This tradition is observed every year to mark the start of the rainy season. According to traditional beliefs villagers wear ghost masks that represent the spirits of the dead who springing back to life and follow the Lord Buddha back to the town.
