Research plant for the production of recycled fertilizers

16 October 2023, Brandenburg, Eberswalde: Several dry separation toilets for large events, for example, are on display at the opening of a research facility for the production of recycled fertilizer on the grounds of Kreiswerke Barnim. As part of the "zirkulierBAR" research project, a urine treatment plant and a humus rack for composting contents from dry toilets are being built on the grounds of Kreiswerke Barnim in Eberswalde. According to the organizers, it is the first facility of its kind in Germany. The zirkulierBAR project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the REGION.innovativ funding measure.
