Dog rescued from roof
Inspector Foster with son Edward and puppy Beauty. Beauty came down to earth after three days on the roof of a disused mill. How she got on to the 60ft high roofs is still a mystery. Families in Welbeck-street, Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancs. First heard her yapping on Friday but not until yesterday was she seen on the roof. Firemen were called to the rescue and R. S. P. C. A. Inspector Robert Foster also went along. It took him three-quarters-of-an hour to catch Beauty - with his dogcatcher pole with a loop on the end. 20th March 1961.
