MCC England Ashes Cricket Tour Of Australia 1920-21

A group of England cricketers posed onboard the RMS Osterley during their voyage to Australia, on the approach into Colombo in Ceylon, 10th October 1920. The group includes Frank Woolley, Errol Rockley Wilson, Percy Fender, Patsy Hendren, JWHT (Johnnie) Douglas, Jack Hearne, Harry Makepeace, and Herbert Strudwick. The MCC England team, touring Australia during the 1920-21 cricket season, made a less than glorious start. Quarantined after an outbreak of illness on their ship, affected by injuries to key players, and plagued by unimpressive results, they approached the Test matches against Australia with an unsettled side. History shows that this England team became the first to lose every match in a 5-Test Ashes series.
