A folding screen made some 400 years ago...
OTSU, JAPAN: A folding screen made some 400 years ago, showing the Tale of Genji, is displayed at Ishiyama-dera, or temple, in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, 10 June 2007. The story was written around 1,000 years ago in the middle of Japan's Heian Period (9th-12th centuries) and is believed by many to be the world's first novel. Selliers' publishing company will publish a book of the Tale of Genji with a French introduction in September this year.
