MARIBO, DENMARK - JUNE 25: Finds on display at Museum Lolland-Falster new Stone Age exhibition from excavations at the Femernbelt Tunnel project is at display for the first time on June 25, 2020 in Maribo, Denmark. The exhibition focus on the excavation teams remarkable finds from the Stone Age where the Femernbelt tollbooths will be placed. One of their sensational finds is a kind of chewing gum based on birch pitch which a young girl had been chewing 7.700 years ago. Researcher has succeeded in recovering DNA traces which informs us about many things regarding who she was, her diet, how she looked and her life. It has surprised the archaeologists that she lived as hunter-gatherer although the find can be dated to 200 years after the introduction of agriculture in Denmark.
