AUG 22 1981 AUG 23 1981 Dragstrip provides rocky landing Pilot Dave Whistler endured a rough landing Saturday after the wing of his Cessna 172 "Skyhawk" scraped a power line that crosses the Bondimere Speedway dragstrip near Alameda Avenue and Rooney Road in Jefferson County, said John Bandimere Jr., owner of the speedway. The plane lost the front wheel off of its landing gear during the unsteady landing. Whistler, granted permission by Bandimere to use the dragstrip as a landing strip, suffered only bruises.
