MAE SOT, TAK PROVINCE, THAILAND - 2013/06/20: Dr. Cynthia Maung, a Burmese doctor, has found Mae Tao Clinic in 1988. The clinic is located at the Thailand-Myanmar border in Amphoe Mae Sot, Tak Province, Thailand. The volunteer doctors around the world have been traveling to give medical care at the clinic without any charges. Moreover, the clinic is also funded by many individual donors and independent entities all across the world. Therefore, there are many patients have traveled to the clinic to get medical care. Some of them even took 10 days to travel from the northwest of Myanmar to the clinic. Statistically, there are 170,000 patients per year. Until now, Mae Tao Clinic still has still continued to rendered medical care to Burmese and Stateless in order to improve their quality of life.
