Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF) organised an international conference entitled ''Help Acid Survivors Rebuild Their Lives and Stop Acid Violence'' to mark its 10th Anniversary. The ASF has recorded nearly 3000 acid attacks, with seventy percent of the attacks on women and 30 percent of them on minors under 18, since 1999. Most attacks occur over land and property related disputes. Young girls are attacked due to rebuffed marriage proposals.
