View of North Canal Road heading to Hong Lim Park. Singapore, Asia. Hong Lim Park is a 0.94-hectare (2.3-acre) heritage park in Singapore that is "the only venue in Singapore where public protests are allowed". Created by Hokkien businessman and philanthropist Cheang Hong Lim in 1885, Hong Lim Park was the first public garden in Singapore. It was the venue for many election rallies and political speeches in the 1950s and 1960s.
