Bundestag To Vote On New Sex Offenses Law
BERLIN, GERMANY - JULY 07: A demonstrator protests against sexual violence but also the use of laws against it that protect women but are used against refugees and other minorities, outside of the Reichstag building, seat of the German federal parliament, as it votes on a new law pertaining to punishment for sexual violence (Reform des Sexualstrafrechts) on July 7, 2016 in Berlin, Germany. The Bundestag voted in favor of a law redefining the definition of rape and thus its legally-implemented consequences. Currently the crime is only punishable as such when a victim physically attempts to fight off an aggressor, and those in favor of changing the definition have argued that verbal resistance should suffice, i.e. 'No means no.' The vote was hailed as a victory for women's rights by advocacy organizations in the country. (Photo by Adam Berry/Getty Images)
