Spanish Olive Oil Producers Face Impact Of U.S. Tariff
ANTEQUERA, SPAIN - APRIL 15: Walls with the Dcoop logo stand at the interior of the laboratory at a Dcoop factory on April 15, 2025 in Antequera, Spain. Dcoop, a major olive oil cooperative in southern Andalucia, is bracing for the impact of a 10% tariff recently imposed by the Trump administration on European goods, including olive oil. The group, which exports approximately €200 million worth of olive oil to the United States each year, fears the added cost could affect both its production levels and international sales. Spain produces about 40% of the world's olive oil and exports roughly 180,000 metric tons to the U.S. annually, making it a key market for Spanish producers.
