Hyangdaecheong is a storage building for ritual utensils at Jongmyo, the oldest and most authentic of the Confucian royal ancestral shrines, which was originally built in the late 14th century and rebuilt in the early 17th century. The shrine houses the spirit tablets of the former kings and queens of the Joseon Dynasty. Hyangdaecheong is decorated with the traditional red and green dancheong paint colors.
