For 35 percent of the TCS employees in Uruguay, this is their first job. TCS has set its headquarters for South America in Uruguay, where it gives employment to some 750 people in total, most of them Uruguayans, but also Peruvians, Colombians, Argentinians and some 60 Indians. In the region the Tata Group employs 5,700 people, 2,000 of them in Brazil alone. TCS is part of the family of 98 enterprises in seven business sectors of the USD 30 billion Tata Group, founded by Jamsetji Tata in the mid 19th Century in India.
