Beanfield installs fibre-optic internet

Toronto, Ontario - JULY 15, 2015 -- Beanfield Metroconnect fibre technician Kevin Sherman holds a 2.5 cm diameter fibre cable bundle, left, which consists of 12 smaller bundles of 12 individual fibre strands on the right for a total of 144 customer connections each supporting 500 megabits up and down stream. The internet digital divide is apparent when condo owners can get the fastest internet speeds at 500 megabits both up and down because of superfast fibre optics installed in condos. Meanwhile, detached homes have slower speeds. (Chris So/Toronto Star via Getty Images)
