(Original Caption) 9/6/1960-New York, New York- Dropping his bat, veteran Boston slugger Ted Williams heads for first base after hitting a ground ball in the 1st inning of the Yanks-Red Sox game. Ted was tossed out on the play, but later slammed a homer as the Sox won, 7-1. The circuit clout was Williams' 26th of the year and the 518th of his Major League career.
