SpaceX launches NASAâs Roman Space Telescope from Cape Canaveral, Florida

CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES - AUGUST 30: NASAâs Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lifts off from pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket on August 30, 2026 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Named after NASA's first chief astronomer, the telescope will have a field of view at least 100 times larger than Hubble's, potentially measuring light from a billion galaxies in its lifetime. Roman will investigate dark energy and dark matter, conduct a statistical census of planetary systems, and enable a broad range of additional astrophysics research.
