Lower cost AI programmes like DeepSeek should be positive for ASML, the head of the Dutch tech giant said on Wednesday, after the emergence of the Chinese start-up upended the sector this week. "Anyone that lowers cost is in fact good news for ASML, because lower cost means AI can be used in more applications. More applications means more chips," Christophe Fouquet told reporters.
