NOV 8 1976, NOV 10 1976; QUICK GRIMACE MEANS VERNA BACA IS SAFE FROM RAVAGES OF SWINE FLU; Sherri Lamb administered the vaccine Tuesday as the first clinics open to the general public got under way in Denver. Earlier clinics had treated persons for whom a bout with the flu would have been dangerous. Scene here was at Morey Junior High School, one of 37 clinics around the city. Lines formed at most locations during the day but moved quickly thanks to the pneumatic guns used by technicians, which eliminate the needle. Shots are free.; (Photo By Ernie Leyba/The Denver Post via Getty Images)
