BRITAIN-ROYALS
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II (C) poses for a picture with King Felipe VI (L) of Spain and his wife, Queen Letizia (R), in St George's Hall, at Windsor Castle, in Windsor, June 17, 2019, after the king was invested as a supernumerary Knight of the Garter, a Stranger Knight of the Garter, ahead of the annual Order of the Garter Service at St George's Chapel. The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, established by King Edward III nearly 700 years ago. Appointment to the order is solely in the gift of the Monarch and is limited to the Sovereign, the Prince of Wales, and no more than 24 members or Companions. Supernumerary members to the order, who members of the British or foreign royal families do not count towards the limit on the number of companions. A supernumerary member from a foreign royal family is known as Stranger Knight of the Garter. (Photo by Steve Parsons / POOL / AFP) (Photo by STEVE PARSONS/POOL/AFP via Getty Images)
