(Original Caption) The ruins of a house in which Mrs. Fred Montie was killed scattered the area after a 30 second tornado ripped through the southeast corner of the town, April 3rd. In left background, the crumbled walls of the Sands Knitting Mill Company show the destruction caused by the twister. Thirty five employees were trapped in the mill during the storm. It was reported that many of them were among the injured.
