MIAMI, : National League catcher Mike Piazza, shown warming up before a Florida Marlin game 21 May, was traded from the Florida Marlins to the New York Mets, according to an official announcement 22 May at Pro Player Staduim in Miami, Florida. Piazza, who had played his entire career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, was traded along with fellow-Dodger Todd Ziele for Marlin players Gary Sheffield, Bobby Bonilla, Jim Eisenreich and Charles Johnson.
