Lee Petty and Joe Weatherly

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - FEBRUARY 22, 1958: The 160-mile NASCAR Convertible race on Daytona Beach was the first of the '58 season. As Lee Petty and Joe Weatherly tangled fiercely the final three laps, Petty's blow the Weatherly's rear fender on the final lap sent the Ford driver spinning. Mayhem followed in the crowd and in the pits. Curtis Turner won, with Petty and Weatherly trailing in that order. (Photo by ISC Archives/CQ-Roll Call Group via Getty Images)
