Team Indus Prepares For Moon Competition
BENGALURU, INDIA - OCTOBER 28: The four wheeled moon rover created by Indian start-up company Team Indus is tested in a pit on October 28, 2016 in Bengaluru, India. Rahul Narayan a software engineer and entrepreneur is leading the Indian start-up company Team Indus which is trying to reach the moon before the end of 2017 using the Indian Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. Its sparse facilities in Bengaluru belie the energy provided by the 100 member team. The Google Lunar XPRIZE (GLXP), is an inducement prize space competition organized by XPRIZE, and sponsored by Google. The challenge calls for privately funded spaceflight teams to be the first to land a privately funded robotic spacecraft on the Moon, travel 500 meters, and transmit back high-definition video and images to win a total cash of USD 30 million.
