The 2015 Braemar Highland Gathering

There has been an annual gathering at Braemar, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, for over 900 years. The current gathering, in the form of a Highland Games and run by the Braemar Royal Highland Society (BRHS), takes place on the first Saturday in September and sees competitors in Running, Heavy Weights, Solo Piping, Light Field and Solo Dance watched by around 16000 spectators. This year the BRHS commemorate their bi-centenary. Members of the Royal family often attend the event and Her Majesty the Queen is Chieftain of the Braemar Gathering.
