The King And Queen Visit The Area Affected By The Volcano Eruption In La Palma

The King and Queen of Spain travelled to the island of La Palma on Thursday to take an interest in the situation of the thousands of people affected by the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano. They also expressed their gratitude to the troops who are taking part in the emergency and evacuation work. The lava coming out of the Cumbre Vieja volcano in El Paso (La Palma) has covered a total of 166 hectares since the eruption began on Sunday 19 September and has already destroyed 350 buildings, according to satellite monitoring by the European Union's Copernicus programme.
