Video: Artistry of Nature

TABLE OF CONTENTS

At last! Nature officially becomes the lead character. “Nature” is now recognised as an official music artist, allowing singers, songwriters and bands to feature natural sounds in their work and also share a portion of their streaming profits from platforms like Spotify and Apple Music with environmental causes. This effort aims to celebrate the beauty of our planet while funding global conservation efforts.1

Our VisualGPS research indicates that over 40% of Europeans feel that visual messages about climate change and other critical issues impacting our environment should be hopeful and inspire people to act for positive impact on the planet. National UK treasure Sir David Attenborough has been inspiring people with his Natural History series Planet Earth for several years. This year, the first episode of Planet Earth III reached 10.6 million viewers, making it one of the highest rated programmes of the year across all genres.2

Ultimately, when we watch cinematic videos that bring diverse ecosystems to life, we are witnessing and connecting with nature in immersive ways. We’re reminded that, even if we’re physically far from these environments, we are still part of a vast, interconnected web.

Engage audiences through the benefits of our natural ecosystems, such as:

  • Pollination of crops by bees
  • Water purification by wetlands
  • Carbon sequestration by forests

These elements are often taken for granted but are crucial for human wellbeing. Getty Images' VisualGPS image testing shows that consumers are drawn to vibrant, action‑orientated, educational visuals that demonstrate care for the environment. Both the big picture and the small details are important. It all connects and understanding that connection can make a difference. Many people may feel like their actions don’t really count, but seeing this connection visually helps.

Top tips for capturing diverse ecosystems through your video edit:

  • Show seasonal shifts: Capture the changing colours and life cycles that highlight the beauty of diverse ecosystems.
  • Slow‑motion highlights: Focus on moments like a flower blooming or a river flowing through woodlands to emphasise their beauty, transformation and vulnerability.
