Sustainable Community Space in Thailand

The rising concern for climate change is also the case in Asia‑Pacific

According to Getty Images' VisualGPS research, climate change has been and is a top concern and priority for people globally, and now we are facing even more challenges to solve. The temperatures are rising two times faster in Asia than the global average, which is associated with the increased frequency and severity of weather‑related natural disasters.1

Based on VisualGPS research, 71% of audiences believe not enough is being done immediately to reduce the effects of the climate crisis, and over 90% of Asia‑Pacific consumers are looking daily to reduce their carbon footprint. This article spotlights a shoot on how you can make an impact for climate change in a community setting.

I met Catherine Costa, an Exclusive creator located in Thailand, and this was one of our first projects to work together. Based on the high demand on representing community that works around sustainability, Catherine proposed this idea of portraying community space that her mother goes to in Thailand, where they share knowledge about sustainable living and how to make changes as an individual in our daily lives.

More age diversity in sustainability

In ads or media, there is not much representation of  people over the age of 50 doing activities around the topic of sustainability. However, based on VisualGPS research, there are actually more people in the 50+ demographic acting individually or in community settings towards climate consciousness.

Catherine photographed  local leaders and members of this group where they are learning with each other, doing workshops and having fun together beautifully and all their expressions and connections are super real.
