Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the Hershey's Take 5 300 NASCAR Busch Series (now Nationwide) in a Chevrolet, after starting eigth in his No. 8 car. He made only four starts that year, winning twice.
Trent Owens finished 15th in the Craftsman Anniversary 200 Truck Series race. He was the highest-finishing rookie. Ironically, he drove truck No. 15, started 15th, and finished 15th.
