Video footage taken in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture, shows some of the 13 towering, lavishly decorated floats equipped with mechanical dolls paraded through the city within sight of its hilltop castle on April 6 during the Inuyama Matsuri festival. Dating from the Edo Period (1603-1867), the event is recognized as an important intangible folk cultural property by the Japanese government and is one of 33 Japanese float festivals collectively added by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage to list on 2016.
