Congressman Questions About Insider Trading in Fantasy Sports

New Jersey Congressman Frank Pallone asks witness Small Business Fantasy Sports Trade Association Executive Director Steve Brubaker whether daily fantasy sports should be regulated by the Congress. Brubaker explains that the companies he represents view a 2006 online gambling law and as an invitation to engage although states have legislated since that time, that they do not balk at consumer protections but seek to remain viable. Pallone asks Fantasy Sports Trade Association Chairman Peter Schoenke about allegations of insider trading within Draft Kings and Fan Duel, noting that neither company sent a representative to testify at a hearing on the stance that Schoenke could answer such questions, when he does not, Pallone promises to send him questions in writing.
