A heap of ripe Peaches (Prunus persica) close-up - stock photo
Peaches were first cultivated in China. It's believed that cultivation started circa 2000 B.C. Although peaches are grown widely in North America and Europe, China remains the largest producer of peaches in the world. This was photographed in a farmers market in Ontario, Canada.
