Dune 45, Sossusvlei, Namibia - stock photo
Dune 45 is a dune in the Sossusvlei area of the Namib Desert in Namibia. Standing over 170 m, it is composed of 5-million-year-old sand that is accumulated by the Orange River from the Kalahari Desert and then blown here. In early morning and late afternoon, the dunes at Sossusvlei in the Namib-Naukluft Park, are breathtakingly beautiful.
