Dogon village in the Bandiagara Escarpment, Mopti region, Mali - stock photo
If we had to highlight a Dogon village above the rest, we should talk about Djguibombo, where waterfalls and streams converge, green meadows and centenarians baobab, abrupt vertical walls and dusty roads and whose small urban nucleus is formed by mud huts with rounded shapes or rectangular with graceful thatched roofs in which doors and windows richly carved with reasons of the Dogón cosmogonía constitute authentic works of art. Here and there we observe how the constructions made with adobe alternate with the odd building made of stone
Djguibombo is a good place to contemplate the spectacular Togunas or "case à palabres", a place reserved exclusively for men and in which the affairs of the village are resolved.
